NALSA-KENYA: SIX-MONTH PROJECT ANALYSIS

NALSA-KENYA: SIX-MONTH PROJECT ANALYSIS
July 1, 2024Brian AnyanzwaNalsaBlog

The National Assembly Lady Spouses Association of Kenya (NALSA-K) has been active through various initiatives over the past six months, aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans through community projects and empowerment programs. This was only possible after project collaboration with Proudly Kenyan – a social and community outreach organisation. Here is a comprehensive update on their recent activities:

Educational Projects

  1. Classroom Construction and Renovation
    • In Samburu, NALSA-K collaborated with Proudly Kenyan to build a modern classroom at Sordo’s Sarara Primary School, significantly boosting student enrollment from 15 to 64 within a fortnight.
    • In Ndhiwa Constituency, the association launched a classroom renovation project at Ndhiwa Primary School, aiming to transform the educational landscape and provide better learning facilities.
  2. Support for Junior Secondary Schools
    • NALSA-K, alongside Proudly Kenyan, completed the construction of a staffroom at Nang’anda Junior Secondary School and renovated two classrooms at Esikone Primary School in Kakamega. This project is set to enhance the quality of education and provide a conducive learning environment for school going children in Kakamega.

Water and Sanitation Projects

  1. Clean Water Initiatives
    • In Osewre, Rarieda Constituency, NALSA-K launched a freshwater project, providing the community with much-needed access to clean water just before Christmas bells rang.
    • A similar water project was initiated in Nambale Sub-County Hospital to address water scarcity and improve hygiene standards in the healthcare facility.
  2. Sanitation Facilities
    • In Bungoma, NALSA-K unveiled a modern ablution block at Sitoma Salvation Army Primary School, significantly improving the sanitation conditions for the students. The new facility features tiled floors, water closets, and separate washing areas for boys and girls.

Community Empowerment

  1. Empowerment Programs in Embakasi Central
    • In collaboration with the Embakasi Central Empowerment Centre, NALSA-K organised a community empowerment event at Kayole One Primary School. This initiative celebrated the graduation of newly trained tailors and highlighted the importance of education and skill development
  1. Support for Vulnerable Groups
    • NALSA-K has been involved in various outreach programs to support vulnerable groups, including the elderly and those in remote areas. These initiatives aim to provide basic necessities and improve the overall quality of life for these communities.

Looking Ahead

NALSA-K remains committed to its mission of enhancing community welfare through conducting sustainable community projects and empowerment programs. The association plans to continue its focus on education, water, and sanitation, ensuring that more communities benefit from their initiatives. By working closely with local partners and stakeholders, NALSA-K aims to create lasting positive impacts across Kenya.

We thank our project partner Proudly Kenyan for a job well done.
