CLEAN WATER GIFT FOR OSEWRE DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON

Osewre area, Rarieda constituency, December 22, received an early Christmas present, the launch of a freshwater project set to transform the lives of area residents.
The area is not far from a freshwater lake (Victoria) yet suffers from access to clean water. The water problem occasioned the NALSA-Kenya area representative, Mrs. Linet Amollo, to initiate a lasting solution for its people. The project took only two months to complete.
The project is estimated to benefit more than 9000 people in the area.

The Chief guest and area MP, Honourable Otiende Amollo, stated.” I applaud NALSA-Kenya and Proudly Kenyan for the job they are doing.”
The NALSA Area representative and project initiator, Mrs Linet Kohanya Amollo, stated. “The water project leads to avoidance of waterborne diseases like cholera.” Mrs Amollo spearheads TERIA, an organisation that offers empowerment, relief and inclusion for Rarieda people.

Clean Water and Sanitation go hand in hand with the Nalsa-Kenya agenda- to empower women, youth and children. Women in rural areas travel long distances to fetch water. The Representative further explains how the project was so important that they had to stretch the budget to fulfil the dream.
The Proudly Kenyan project manager, Stella Wangare, said,” Proudly Kenyan has been working in partnership with NALSA-Kenya to initiate economic empowerment projects throughout Kenya.
Samuel Ogutu from the area states. “Thank you for considering the Osewre area. Osewre area is raw, untapped and ready for development.”
He further stated that the water is free and not for sale, and support by community members was crucial to achieving the objective of donating land.
Ultimately, the goal of the inhabitants is to create an ECD in the area.
